About Us

Capistrano Unified Children First is a non-partisan coalition of parents, business and community leaders, educators and concerned citizens dedicated to ensuring the highest quality education possible for all children in the Capistrano Unified School District now and in the years to come.

Why Children First?

Providing a high quality education for all the children in the communities served by CUSD must be a top priority of the Board of Trustees. Children First will maintain vigilance on the activities of the Board to insure that the appropriate educational priorities are established that will promote the achievement and success of students while effectively managing costs to insure that every dollar is spent in the best of interest of the students.

We need trustees who represent their constituents––not special interests!

What will Children First do?

    • We will work together with a broad base of constituents including parents, business and community leaders, educators, elected officials and concerned members of our communities who believe in quality, public education that affords all children equal access to educational programs that will enable them to develop into responsible, productive citizens.

    • We will identify, nurture and support candidates for the Board of Trustees who will responsibly accept the challenge of becoming qualified for the privilege of sitting on the CUSD Board . These candidates will pledge that when elected they will fully participate in board training opportunities so that they can offer the best expertise in the service of the children, families and employees of CUSD.
